News Crew

Our 5th Grade News Crew works as a team to deliver the morning announcements daily. They set the tone for the day and encourage students to work hard, do their best and be kind.

Students are eligible to apply to be a part of the News Crew at the end of their fourth grade school year. New students to our school in fifth grade should talk to Mrs. Tucker if interested in this opportunity.

Safety Patrol & School Helpers

Safety Patrols wear a uniform called the safety patrol belt and a badge once they memorize the Safety Patrol Pledge. Safety Patrols assist staff members in ensuring student safety.

Patrols are 5th grade leaders and role models that complete an application process at the end of their fourth grade year. Applications are blindly reviewed (names redacted) by a committee and patrols are chosen based on their essays and staff recommendations. Since being prompt is a core component of these positions, no late applications are accepted. If you have any questions, please contact our Patrol Sponsor, Michelle Ferrell at  [email protected] .

THE SAFETY PATROL PLEDGE

I promise to do my best to:

  • Report for duty on time
  • Perform my duties faithfully
  • Strive to prevent accidents
  • Always set a good example
  • Obey my teachers and officers of the Patrol
  • Report dangerous student practices
  • Strive to earn the respect of fellow students
