Who is the PTO?
YOU! If you have a student at Bristow Run Elementary, consider yourself part of our Parent Teacher Organization! Our PTO consists of 4 executive board members, teachers and parent volunteers like you! Volunteers are vital to our school's PTO; offering invaluable resources to our teachers and students.
What Does the PTO Do?
- Organizing school events and fundraisers is a key part of PTO. These events include Block Party, Costume Bingo, Spirit Nights, Movie Nights, Boosterthon, feeding our teachers for workday lunches and specialty events throughout the year!
- Teacher grants to fulfill special projects in the classroom on a case by case basis are paid by the PTO. In the past we have helped fund the 5th grade Shark Tank project.
- We help fund school field trips; purchase yearbooks and supplies for families that need assistance.
- Every year the PTO gives a large contribution to Bristow Run Elementary. In the past, these funds have been used to purchase the Learning Garden, playground equipment, field day supplies, murals and other items not covered by the school.

Who is the School Advisory Council?
A School Advisory Council is a group that helps the school make important decisions. It includes parents, teachers, and community members who work together to support the school.
What Does the Council Do?
- Advises the Principal and School Leaders: The council gives advice and suggestions to the principal and school leaders.
- Identifies School Needs: They help figure out what the school needs to improve.
- Improves the School Plan: They review and suggest changes to the school’s improvement plan.
- Communicates: They help keep communication open between the school staff and the community.
- Gives Budget Input: They provide ideas and feedback on the school’s budget.
