.Halfway Through the Year in PE......
Physical Education….Stronger, Faster and Healthier
As we wrap up the 2nd 9 weeks in PE, we are finishing up with our volleyball unit. Students in grades 3-5 learned how to serve underhand, bump and set the ball over the net. We worked on partner passes, circle passes and individual skills. We finished up the unit by playing a modified volleyball game and learning how to score points.
Students in grades K-2 learned how to track the ball, bump and set the ball. We also worked on partner passing, individual skills and worked on volleyball stations. We finished up the unit by playing a modified volleyball game throwing and catching the ball over the net and learning how to score points.
Jump Rope for Heart starts on January 26th and will end on February 28th. Students will learn about heart health and we will also start our jump rope unit. During the jump rope unit, grades 4-5 will also be re-tested for the mid-year Wellness Tests and grades K-3 will work on video target practice.
4th and 5th grade students will receive a letter and two copies of their Wellness scores from the fall. Please review these results with your student, sign one copy and return it to school and they second copy is for your records. Please contact me with any questions.
Looking forward to starting the 3rd 9 weeks. We encourage all students to give their best effort each class and safety is a top priority in class. Please remember to have students wear sneakers or tennis shoes on PE days for safe participation. PE days do rotate when a day of school is missed, so please refer to the Bristow Run website for your students PE days.
