Thank you to all of our 5th grade News Crew, Safety Patrols and School Helpers.  You did a great job this year!  While your time on duty was shorter than expected, it was a privilege to work with each of you and we really appreciate all of your help in being leaders and role models in the 2019-20 School Year!

Mrs. Leischner & Mrs. MacWhorter

Patrol Belts Return:  If you still have your patrol belt, please call the school office to schedule a time to drop it off this summer.  I will need these for next year's crew.

Rising 5th Graders: Application process will take place when we return to school.  When we reopen for school, we will meet with all the 5th grade students to discuss the application process.  Any interested students will be able to apply at that time and application reviews will be expedited to have a crew in place as soon as possible.  We look forward to working with our next crew in the 2020-21 school year:)

Safety Patrols wear a uniform called the safety patrol belt and a badge once they memorize the Safety Patrol Pledge.  Safety Patrols assist staff members in ensuring student safety.

School Helpers work to help students develop social and communication skills.  Students act as role models and leaders to promote positive social interactions and communication.

News Crew work as a team to deliver the morning announcements daily.  They set the tone for the day and encourage students to work hard, do their best and be kind.

Patrols, News Crew and School Helpers are 5th grade leaders and role models that complete an application process.  Applications are blindly reviewed (names redacted) by a committee and patrols are chosen based on their essays and staff recommendations.   Since being prompt is a core component of these positions, no late applications are accepted.   If you have any questions, please contact us:)
